The 30-year-old 'Troublemaker' singer said today: "Never forget 25th June! Thanks @SimonCowell @TheXFactor for my chance back in 2009! So crazy what has happened!! #verysuperstitious."

Olly continued to thank his fans, saying: "Most importantly all you lot, the fans for your continued love, support & cheekiness! Never forget that! None of this is possible without you!"

Simon, Cheryl, Dannii and Louis loved Olly's audition in 2009.

Olly's audition was a memorable one, with the Essex boy belting out the song while showcasing his dance moves. Olly got four 'yeses' from the judges, with Simon telling him at the time: "I've got to tell you Olly, this is the easiest yes I've ever given."

Even when Olly left the stage, Simon told the other judges: "I really, really like that guy."

Olly reached the finals of The X Factor's sixth series and was runner-up after losing out to Joe McElderry.

Since, Olly has become one of the UK's most celebrated popstars. Signed to Epic Records and Simon's Syco Music label, (which are both divisions of parent company Sony Music Entertainment), Olly released three albums, two of which charted at number one.

Olly has gone on to achieve considerable success since his X Factor days.

Olly also landed a presenting stint on The Xtra Factor in 2011 alongside Caroline Flack. He left after two years to focus on his music career, and after going on a promotional blitz of the US, he celebrated one million record sales for his hit record, 'Troublemaker'.

He embarked on his first headline tour in 2013, travelling to Europe and North America, and has also supported One Direction and Robbie Williams on tour.

Olly first auditioned for The X Factor in 2007, and although he was rejected on that occasion, two years later he sailed through!
