The Queen is no stranger to sitting on a throne, but she looked somewhat intrigued by the Game Of Thrones one today!

The Queen was accompanied by the Duke of Edinburgh for a tour of the Paint Hall film and television studios in the Titanic Quarter of Belfast on Monday, 23 June.

While there, she came face to face with the famous Iron Throne from the fantasy series, the rather imposing structure forged from swords and dragon's breath.

Sadly, she didn't take a seat on it!

Many Game of Thrones scenes are filmed in Northern Ireland, with the country getting ready to host the cast and crew once again when the fifth series filming gets underway soon.

While visiting the Paint Hall – at the old Harland and Wolff shipbuilding yard – the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh met stars from the show.

Kit Harrington (Jon Snow), Rose Leslie (Ygritte), Conleth Hill (Varys), Maisie Williams (Arya) and Sophie Turner (Sansa) were among those who met the royal couple.
