Viewers of the ITV2 reality show know that Chloe and Lauren fell out on the last series after Chloe's secret romance with Mario Falcone was exposed. Lauren had been upset Chloe hadn't confided in her - and that she'd previously kissed Mario on a night out before Chloe got together with him.
We'd kind of been hoping the former besties would find a way to renew their friendship on this new series, but on last night's premiere episode, that didn't happen.
They didn't get off to the best start in Marbs when they came face-to-face for the first time in a couple of months.
Chloe had been chatting with brother Charlie and his girlfriend Ferne McCann when Lauren came over with her best friend Vas J. Morgan, a new addition to the TOWIE cast.
Vas mentioned that he and Lauren were hosting a party tonight and they should come.
Ferne questioned: "All of us?"
Cue the world's longest silence (or editing) before Vas replied: "You should all come. Why not?"
Ferne was not impressed and after Lauren and Vas left, she said: "That was rude. R. U. D. E. Capital letters. Rude. You were mates with Vas, why was that so cold?"
Chloe agreed that Vas hadn't made things comfortable but said she hadn't really expected anything less. She did seem a bit upset though, as she'd been friends with Vas too, even if she'd met him via Lauren.
Ferne later told her pals that the whole situation had been weird. "I knew the first meeting between Chloe and Lauren would be awkward but if anything, they were rude. Vas didn't even acknowledge Chloe. I don't trust this guy."
At the end of the episode, however, it appeared that Chloe wanted to make amends, as she approached Lauren and Vas at a club. After kissing Vas on the cheek, she told Lauren that she missed her.
Lauren replied: "The only way we can move forward is if we say what is pissing us off about each other."
Unfortunately, that didn't really go very well. Lauren kicked things off by saying she was annoyed Chloe had called her a psycho and said she was obsessed with Mario.
Chloe, however, didn't remember this. She then retaliated by asking if Lauren had been so angry, why hadn't she picked up the phone and had it out with her?
"I needed time to chill out," replied Lauren.
Chloe then said she wasn't sure if she and Lauren could ever recover the close friendship they once had, prompting Lauren to say: "Then we obviously weren't great friends."
"Obviously not," agreed Chloe, before walking off.
Lauren then started crying as Vas comforted her.
TOWIE airs Sundays and Wednesdays on ITV2.
