Cheryl was pictured arriving at the Emirates Stadium, Old Trafford, alongside Simon Cowell, who is also making his return to the ITV1 show this year, stalwart Louis Walsh and new judge Melanie Brown - or Mel B as she is better known.
Dressed in all-white, Cheryl looked seriously summery as she posed for pictures on the red carpet. The former Girls Aloud star teamed a sheer T-shirt with a white crop top and mini-skirt, adding a pop of colour with bright turquoise, metallic heels.
Cheryl kept her honey-blonde ombre hair sleek and straight, sweeping it into a side parting, and finished off her look with fluttery lashes and a rose pink lippie.
Mel B, meanwhile, also decided to show off her super-slender legs in a black mini-skirt with gold stud detailing.
The former Spice Girl had slicked her hair into a ponytail and was sporting smokey eye make-up and a nude glossy pout to match her heels!
Simon, meanwhile, opted for his trademark open white shirt, smart black trousers and loafers - oh, and not to mention his sunglasses. And with the exception of a navy jacket and jeans, Louis also followed suit. (Though his shirt was opened quite so much!)
Earlier, new Xtra Factor host, DJ Sarah-Jane Crawford, was also seen ahead of her first day on the show, having been announced as Caroline Flack's replacement last week.
X Factor host Dermot O'Leary also walked the red carpet in Manchester, chatting and posing for pictures with waiting fans.
Having scrapped the live first auditions last year, hopefuls will be again singing in front of the panel in a room. Mark Sidaway, X Factor executive producer, has tweeted a picture of the room and judges' desk to give us a sneak peek.
Alongside the snap, he commented: "Buffed and polished. Now all we need are 4 feisty opinionated judges..... #xfactor."
Meanwhile, we've also been given a look at the swish judges' dressing room thanks to the official X Factor Twitter account!
Show bosses have posted a snap of the backstage area, complete with personalised directors' chairs, saying: "We snuck into the Judges' Green Room. This is where they'll hangout/refresh between the auditions. #xfactor."
This year's X Factor seems to have been a long time coming, as the build up has been going on for months!
Although Cheryl confirmed her X Factor return in March, Simon kept us hanging to find out who the third and fourth judges would be this year.
At the beginning of this month, Louis confirmed he would be back as a judge during a radio interview in Ireland, and Mel B wasn't announced as a judge until just last Wednesday!
Earlier today, Mel B retweeted the official X Factor account which had posted: "Morning Manchester! @SimonCowell @CherylCole @OfficialMelB & Louis Walsh start judging today. Say hi from 12.30pm."
