Former Destiny's Child star Kelly Rowland released her new song 'The Game' yesterday (12 June) as the World Cup kicked off in Brazil, marking her return to music.

Kelly's new single 'The Game' is in support of this year's FIFA World Cup in Brazil and it sure is one to get you pumped for cheering on your team!

And teaming up with renowned director Spike Lee, the music video features a short film inspired by this year's hosting country.

Featuring a catchy beat produced by Jake Troth, the track features real sounds from the football stadium (referee's whistle and all) to bring the match atmosphere right into your home.

And we can just imagine this full blast in the players' dressing room as they prepare to head out onto the pitch!

Talking about the track Kelly said: "The song is such an impactful song, the feeling around it. The lyrics that are in this record are just so empowering."

Working alongside Pepsi Max, the track features on Pepsi's new World Cup album 'Beats of the Beautiful Game', bringing together chart-topping musicians and award-winning directors to produce 11 anthemic songs to see us through the tournament. As well as Kelly, the album also features music by Rita Ora and Timbaland.

Speaking about her collaboration with Pepsi, the former X Factor judge was honoured to work on such a project that brings together the worlds of music, sports and film. She said: "I was immediately attracted to 'The Game' because I can identify with its theme of overcoming challenges and finding your voice. It's a very important message".

And a sports fan herself, Kelly revealed her new track was inspired by her very first footballing experience.

"It was so loud and thunderous. And I wanted it [The Game] to have the same effect."

The 33-year-old's new music release comes after speculation she is pregnant with her first child!

Sharing a cute Instagram snap of matching baby and daddy shoes, Kelly sent rumours of her expecting into overdrive and although it is not officially confirmed, excited fans heavily believe it to be true.

Kelly married her long term partner, Tim Witherspoon, in a secret Costa Rican wedding this year, after Tim proposed to the star on Skype.

And with their first child possibly on the way, maybe there's more reasons than one for Kelly to be excited at the moment!
