It had previously been claimed that J.Lo had pulled out of a scheduled performance alongside Pitbull on Thursday night (12 June), with unspecified production issues being cited the reason.
However, a rep for the star has insisted this isn't the case.
In a statement, the spokesperson said: "Jennifer has always wanted to participate in the World Cup opening ceremonies. We have been trying to work out scheduling and logistics. Any statements to the contrary were premature."
The rep added: "Jennifer would not want to disappoint her fans or fans of futbol. She will be there."
Jennifer and Pitbull have recorded the official song for this year's World Cup, called 'We Are One (Ole Ola)'. Brazilian pop star Claudia Leitte also features on the track.
The World Cup 2014 Opening Ceremony will take place at Corinthians Arena in Sao Paulo, ahead of the first match of the competition between Brazil and Croatia.
