It had been widely speculated Bey and Jay would be among the well-wishers at Kimye's nuptials in Florence, Italy on 24 May, with rumours even suggesting Jay had been appointed best man.
However, the superstar couple were no-shows.
Talking to Australian radio programme Kyle & Jackie O, mother of the bride Kris Jenner said she presumed Beyoncé and Jay didn't attend because of work commitments.
"You know what, there was so much commotion and excitement that I never gave [their absence] a second thought," she said. "I know they sent really nice wishes to Kanye and Kim and I just presumed they were working. I didn't think anything other than that."
Kris added the focus at the wedding was on the soon-to-be-newlyweds and their baby daughter North West, not on who was or wasn't on the guest list.
"It was just about Kim, Kanye and the baby and this amazing weekend."
Although Bey and Jay weren't there in Florence, Beyoncé did wish Kim and Kanye all the best in an Instagram post uploaded shortly after they exchanged vows in Italy.
"Wishing you a lifetime of unconditional love. God bless your beautiful family," she wrote.
Kris also shared that Kanye made plenty of decisions about the wedding himself because he wanted to surprise Kim. "It was an emotional overload of love!" joked Kris.
Next up on the Kardashian-Jenner calendar will be North West's first birthday on 15 June.
