One Direction star Zayn Malik may have millions in the bank, but that hasn't stopped him from checking into a cheap and cheerful B&B!

Zayn is currently on tour with his 1D bandmates and is estimated to be worth a staggering £14 million, but his place of residence earlier this week was at the £24.50-a-night New Esplanade Hotel in Blackpool.

According to the owner, Zayn wanted somewhere "quiet" to stay for the night while his fiancée Perrie Edwards performed with her band Little Mix just down the road.

After collecting her from the gig, held at Blackpool Opera House, the couple spent the night together before Zayn headed to London to rejoin his fellow 1D bandmates ahead of tomorrow night's Wembley Stadium show.

"Zayn wanted somewhere quiet and out of the way, so he booked into the New Esplanade for the night," the hotelier told Reveal.

"He is from Bradford, as are we, which is how he came to hear about the hotel."

He added: "During the evening while Perrie was performing, he stayed in and had a quiet drink before going off in his car to collect her from her concert.

"Zayn stayed with us for one night then got up early and headed straight back down to London. He's a nice lad."

Zayn and bandmates Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne and Niall Horan are currently on their 'Where We Are' tour and will be taking to the stage in Wembley for three nights starting from tomorrow.

Earlier this week, we reported how fans camping out ahead of the concerts have been warned to keep the noise down - or face being slapped with a Disposal Order, usually handed out to football hooligans.
