Francis shared a photo of himself dressed smartly as a groom, while a pretty brunette girl dressed in a satin wedding gown wrapped one arm around him and thrusted her bouquet in the air.
Captioning the photo on Instagram on Tuesday night (3 June), Francis said: "The new Mrs. Boulle @daisyjenks."
While some instantly thought Francis was off the market, others weren't so convinced, with one saying: "Surely not? Since when? I didn't even know he was seeing anyone!"
Female fans instantly went into meltdown, with many expressing their confusion. "Oh no, we've missed our chance," said one fan. "I feel so broken," said another.
Meanwhile, one Instagram user said: "How could he do this and not tell me?!"
After getting over 4,000 likes on the photo - and still plenty of speculation - Francis broke his silence and put fans out of their misery by revealing he was playing dress up on a photo shoot!
Posting a selfie, he added: "Guys I'm not really married, just a prank! Although @daisyjenks would make an excellent first wife. #gotchya #june3rdfools."
Responding to the prank, one fan said: "That's given me heart palpitations." While another commented: "I nearly had a heart attack."
Francis, who is heir to a diamond mining dynasty, had a fair few romances on Made In Chelsea, most notably with Ashley James and Sophia Sassoon. Viewers fell in love with his awkward but loveable character since his debut during the show's first series in 2011.
Francis was last seen very briefly at the start of MIC's sixth series last year, but hasn't been back on the show since announcing he was going to cut back on filming. However, it appears fans want to see more of the popular reality star, with many asking him to make a permanent return.
