George Michael was taken to hospital last week.

According to today's The Sun, two ambulances were seen arriving at his London home to escort the singer to hospital for medical treatment.

A rep for the star, 50, has declined to provide specifics about George's condition – or whether he is still in hospital – and would only say: "George Michael was in hospital for routine tests but there is nothing further to say."

The medical drama unfolded at around 8am on Thursday, 22 May, according to the London Ambulance Service, which has confirmed two vehicles were sent to an address in London.

Once there, there treated a man who was then taken to hospital.

Wham! singer George has faced a string of medical issues in the past, including a frightening battle with pneumonia in 2011.

Last year, he received minor injuries following a motorway car crash.
