Michelle Keegan has admitted she misses the days of anonymity before she was famous.

The brunette beauty shot to national fame six years ago when she joined the cast of Coronation Street as Tina McIntyre.

And 26-year-old Michelle's fame has only grown in the past year thanks to her high-profile romance with former TOWIE star Mark Wright.

Speaking to TV Extra this weekend, she confessed: "I can't imagine doing anything else but I do miss being anonymous. It's hard when you're in a relationship with someone else in the public eye, but everyone has been lovely."

Reflecting on suddenly being thrust into the limelight, she said: "No one can ever prepare you for it. I went from being normal Michelle Keegan and then, six months later, everyone knew my business.

"It's very strange. Luckily, I've got the same people around me, so the only thing that is different is my job. It's hard when people have opinions on your life and your relationships – that's what I find difficult."

Michelle's time on Coronation Street comes to an end this week, with the highly publicised death of Tina at the hands of another character.

But rather than taking some time off, Michelle is thrusting herself right back into work, revealing recently she's already had a call back for one project and has auditioned for a new US TV show.

She's also up for trying her hand at Hollywood, saying it's the right time in her career as she hasn't started a family yet.

"I'd love to do film or go over there to try it out. I don't want to look back on my life and think, 'What if?'"

As well as work, she's also planning her wedding to Essex favourite Mark, which is expected to take place in the UK next summer.
