Robin Thicke made a very public declaration of love to estranged wife Paula Patton at the Billboard Music Awards 2014.

The 'Blurred Lines' singer gave thanks to his actress wife while picking up an award early in the night, before singing a new track called 'Get Her Back'.

Childhood sweethearts Robin and Paula separated in February following eight years of marriage and one son, Julian, four, and since then, Robin's made no secret of the fact he's trying to win his love back.

Accepting the gong for 'Top R &B Song' for 'Blurred Lines', the crooner said: "Most importantly I'd like to thank my wife for her love and support and for putting up with me all these years."

Then, later in the evening, he debuted his brand new song 'Get Her Back', which he wrote for Paula.

It features lyrics including: "I gotta go get her back / I gotta treat her right / I gotta cherish her for life / I don't know what I was thinking / Never let you go.

"I miss you so much baby, I just want you to come back home / I don't know what to do in the mornings without you by my side / I don't know how to sleep without you by my side."

Announcing their split in February, the couple said: "We will always love each other and be best friends, however, we have mutually decided to separate at this time."

However, it soon became clear that Robin wasn't happy at the separation and was trying to win Paula back.

Just a couple of weeks after their split announcement, Robin was overheard saying: "I'm just trying to get her back, man." Since then, he's referenced his love for Paula at several concerts, saying he wants her back.
