The 20-year-old singer took to Twitter on Wednesday night (14 May) to urge fans to ignore the rumours, adding: "The truth will set you free."
'Baby' singer Justin hit the headlines earlier this week when a woman accused him of taking her mobile phone from her handbag after believing she'd taken pictures of him while he was playing mini golf.
The woman reportedly said Justin lifted the device from her bag but when he discovered it was locked, he handed it back to her. She then unlocked it to prove she hadn't taken pictures, before filing a complaint.
LAPD confirmed this week they were investigating but no arrests or charges had been made.
Now, Justin has spoken out, telling fans: "It is hard to defend myself and my privacy every moment of the day. Then to see rumours. The truth will set u free (sic)."
Justin posted a screenshot of a TMZ story claiming an employee at the golf course had witnessed the entire incident. The employee is quoted as saying Justin was angry as the woman's flash was distracting him from his golf, but that he never took the phone.
The woman has not responded to the latest development.
"My mum raised me to be kind to others. I get judged, harassed, and I try to take the high road. Sometimes it isn't easy. But we keep trying," tweeted Justin.
"I will continue to be the man my mother raised. I love people and I will try to be kind even when things are not fair. Don't believe rumours."
He added: "Thanks for those who stick by me and those that help me grow everyday. I love "
"Off to have fun and smile with friends. I'm human. I feel. I hurt. But I got thick skin too. I can handle it. I love you."
