'We Can't Stop' singer Miley has opened up for the first time since being treated for a severe allergic reaction to medicine.
Speaking on Ryan Seacrest's KIIS-FM radio show yesterday, the starlet explained she was initially treated for what she believed was a cold or flu, but then it turned more serious than anyone could have expected.
"I got sick while I was on the road. I had an ongoing little cough thing so I got some medicine, had to cancel a show as I wasn't feeling good. I felt I had a little flu or cold thing," she recalled.
"They gave me some medicine for five days and everything was good, but on the sixth day, I just woke up and it was so scary. When you're allergic to something… I was basically poisoning myself with something I didn't know I was really scary allergic to. It was so scary."
Miley, 21, said the worst part for her was not being able to perform on her 'Bangerz Tour' – and despite the seriousness of her condition, she begged doctors to let her leave hospital.
"I was in hospital one night and they let me out and I was ready to do the show. Then woke up in the morning and went back to hospital. Then I left again because I wanted to do the show, then about three hours later everything was back and I was back having an insane reaction every two or three hours."
She added: "It was insane. I was begging the doctors to let me out to do the show but there was basically no way."
Miley said aside from having to postpone dates on her US tour, the worst part of being in hospital was the boredom, so she kept herself occupied with online shopping - although she's already having buyer's remorse.
"I ended up doing way too much online shopping and whatever pain medication they had me on, I made some very questionable choices in what I bought, including a hot pink mini skirt."
