One Direction star Liam Payne has pleaded for a little privacy from fans who gather outside his home.

The 'Best Song Ever' singer made a polite request via Twitter on Tuesday night (8 April) in the hopes of making his house a no-access zone.

"Please don't sit outside my house," tweeted Liam. "It's the one place I get to be myself and not have people taking pictures."

And fans who do venture near Chez Payne might have his singing bodyguard to contend with…

Liam also tweeted yesterday: "Those days when your tough guy bodyguard is singing Beyonce. Just how safe am I? #ToughGuysSingBeyonceToo."

This isn't the first time Liam has asked fans to give him a little breathing space while he's not working.

Back in January, he said: "Can people please stop coming and waiting outside. I'd just like to be able to walk outside as everyone does and enjoy time with my friends, not feel bad for not wanting to take a picture.

"Sorry if I've been rude to anyone but I've come to realise if I take one picture, more people keep coming every day. Hope everyone's good."

Fans will have plenty of chances to see Liam up close when one Direction kick off their mammoth 'Where We Are' stadium tour later this year.
