Last year, Ellie was rumoured to have flirted with both Calvin Harris and Ed Sheeran and dated actor Jeremy Irvine.
In recent weeks, Ellie has also been spotted out and about on several occasions with McFly's Dougie Poynter - although Dougie has denied being in a relationship with her.
Ellie has now confirmed she is single too in a new interview with US Cosmopolitan magazine, adding that she used to see boyfriends as her "everything".
She said: "I [used to] put men on a pedestal. They'd be everything. I decided to remedy that, and that's why I'm single now.
"I've realised I don't need a guy. I've got amazing, awesome, stupid friends in the best way possible."
Ellie, 27, also opened up about break-ups with boyfriends, admitting that she has initially found relationship splits hard to deal with in the past.
"A lot of despair in breaking up with someone is thinking about how you're going to cope in the future," Ellie adds.
"But not being completely present prevents you from being happy and alive. As soon as you stop relying so heavily on what happened in the past, you end up being able to deal."
