This year, The X Factor is holding its biggest ever mobile audition tour around the UK and Ireland and Cheryl has offered her tips for success.
Former Girls Aloud singer Cheryl announced her return to The X Factor earlier this month and has said that being "original" is the key.
Cheryl said: "If you do something original or a good remix or something that makes people sit up and listen, that's always a good start.
"So go and do some research, find some unique ways of singing songs we're already aware of."
Encouraging people to audition, Simon Cowell - who has also returned to the judging panel this year - has also said that he is hoping to find the next singing sensation "to take on the world".
"The last time I was on the show we discovered One Direction, Cher Lloyd and Rebecca Ferguson," Simon added.
"This year we're visiting more towns and cities than ever across the UK to find the next pop star ready to take on the world. So if you're thinking about auditioning, just do it!"
The X Factor will be visiting nine major cities and, for those who can't make it, the mobile auditions will be rocking up in 34 towns across the UK and Ireland.
Hopefuls do not need to sign up beforehand and will be auditioning in front of the X Factor team. If they impress, they will be in with a chance of singing in front of Simon, Cheryl and their fellow judges (who have not been announced yet) this summer.
