Viewers of the Essex reality show saw Mario and Chloe call time on their secret relationship on Wednesday night's episode, shortly after the cat was let out of the bag.
Chatting to the TOWIE official website, the Italian tailor had nothing but kind words for Chloe, saying: "She is literally the perfect girl. She's got banter, she's very beautiful, she comes from an amazing family."
But, as Mario said on the episode, he just feared he had too much to lose if anything went wrong, as he considers Chloe and her brother Charlie Sims very close friends.
"Obviously I'd have a lot to gain [if it worked out]," he said. "But if it goes tits up I'd lose what I value in my life more than anything."
Mario also said this was a good time to end the relationship as it was still in its beginning stage and nothing had become too deep or serious.
Their secret romance was outed earlier this month when Mario kissed Chloe on a London street during a night out – much to the surprise of TOWIE fans who'd never suspected they were more than fans.
Also surprised was Charlie, who was in the position of watching his best friend date his sister. Although, he was pretty cool about it, saying he just wanted Chloe to be happy and he knew Mario was a good guy.
Less happy was Chloe's best friend Lauren Pope, who was left in tears when she found out, partly because she once kissed Mario, but more because she felt left out that Chloe hadn't confided in her.
Hopefully, however, the girls will patch up any differences soon, especially as Chloe and Mario's brief relationship is now over.
