Former prison officer Sam, 36, won the tenth series of X Factor under Sharon's mentorship in December 2013, and has remained in contact with Sharon ever since.
Although currently over in the US working, Sharon made sure to congratulate Sam last night on the release of her first album The Power of Love, which has been tipped to top the charts this weekend.
Sharon, 61, tweeted: "I'm counting down the hours till it's official and your album is number one. Remember, you've always been my number one. So proud."
Sam replied: "Love ya mrs."
Earlier this year, it was revealed Sharon had agreed to be godmother to Sam Bailey's third child, which is due later this year.
"I said in an interview I'd love her to be godmother but I didn't want her to think I was asking for the wrong reasons," said Sam. "She's the one who accepted me at the beginning, supported me the whole way through - I wouldn't be where I am now if it hadn't been for her decision to keep me, She has a lot to answer for."
Sharon has now left X Factor as a judge - she'd only returned to celebrate the show's tenth year.
The eleventh series of X Factor will air later this year, with both Simon Cowell and Cheryl Cole returning as judges. The identities of the third and fourth judges have yet to be confirmed although we do know Cheryl will have a hand in choosing them.
Meanwhile, Sam's Power of Love album is available now. It features her X Factor winner's single 'Skyscraper', originally performed by Demi Lovato, that hit Christmas number one in 2013.
