Ant McPartlin and his mother were reportedly assaulted earlier this month while out in London, but thankfully neither was hurt.

According to reports, the Saturday Night Takeaway star, his mum and his aunt were dining at a pub in Chiswick, west London on 13 March when they encountered a group of youths.

BBC reports that Ant asked the group to stop filming him though the window and making rude gestures, and they responded by assaulting him and pushing his mum to the ground.

According to The Sun, the popular TV presenter had left the pub to request the youths go away, and his mum later followed him outside to find out what was going on.

A source told the newspaper: "Ant was furious and both he and his mum were left shaken. Ant called the police but by the time officers came the group had ran off and he decided not take it further. Thankfully neither of them were hurt."

Scotland Yard later confirmed they'd attended the site of the pub in relation to an assault complaint, adding: "Police attended but no allegation was made and no one suffered any notable injuries."

A rep for Ant has not commented.
