Nineties boy band 5ive have denied rumours that member Abz Love is leaving the band.

The Big Reunion stars slammed claims that Abz is now the second person to jump ship, since Jason 'J' Brown chose not to reunite with the group for the reality show last year.

The group, consisting of Abz, Sean Conlon, Ritchie Neville and Scott Robinson, posted a message on Twitter this week, following reports that former Celebrity Big Brother star Abz had quit.

Writing on their official Twitter account, 5ive said: "Bad news guys, there is a bad rumour spreading! Good news it's not true! Abz ain't leaving the band!"

While 5ive have denied Abz's departure, they revealed earlier today that the 34-year-old will not be joining them on 'The Big Reunion Boy Band Tour' in October, meaning four will become three for the 13-date arena tour later this year.

Following the tour announcement, 5ive said: "Unfortunately Abz is unable to make The Big Reunion Tour. But don't worry he's not leaving the band!"

"Abz is still confirmed for all other Five shows coming up! We had to make a decision whether to go forward for the tour as a three. We didn't want to let the fans down or The Big Reunion down as this is where the journey restarted for us and we thank you guys for all your ongoing support x."

They added: "Cannot wait to perform for you guys and we're really looking forward to it xx."

5ive, which was the brainchild of Simon Cowell, enjoyed considerable success since their debut in 1997, racking up 20 million records and 11 top 10 singles.

They band called it a day in 2001 but decided to reunite for the first series of The big Reunion last year.

Five soon became four as founding member J chose not to take part in the reunion. The boys first got back on stage at Hammersmith Apollo last February, which marked 11 years since their last performance together.
