Cheryl Cole has reportedly been offered the chance to make her musical comeback during Britain's Got Talent.

It's been a long time since we heard any new tunes from former Girls Aloud star Chezza but according to The Sun, that's about to change…

A source claims Simon Cowell has asked Cheryl if she'll debut her highly anticipated comeback single - which hasn't actually been chosen yet - during an episode of his ITV show, which returns soon.

There's no word yet on whether Cheryl has accepted, and the insider points out plenty of other shows have been fighting for the chance to nab her as a performer.

Personally, we'd kind of thought she might wait until the X Factor live shows roll around, considering she's now confirmed her return as a judge. And then do a 'Fight For This Love'-style performance that blows everyone away and has us all talking.

Cheryl's last album was third offering A Million Lights, released in 2012. It reached number two in the UK album charts and spawned the singles 'Call My Name' and 'Under The Sun'.

Cheryl fans know she's been hard at work on album number four: she posted a picture to Instagram last week showing herself in a recording studio along with the caption: "This is what my 'Can not find a chorus' looks like…'

Meanwhile, she confirmed her return to X Factor on 10 March alongside Simon Cowell. The identities of judges three and four have yet to be revealed.
