In the episode, the former couple met up to discuss their bitter split before Charlie told Ferne that he just wanted to be friends, rather than rekindle their romance.
Referring to her fling with Frank Major, Charlie said: "One side of me does really hate you for what you've put me through. It might sound rich coming from me, but how you could've ever fallen for that guy I'll never know.
"But...the other side of me seriously does still love you, because it remembers the Ferne that I used to know."
Charlie then told Ferne that he wanted to be on his own and agreed when she suggested they should be friends.
Ferne held back tears and kissed Charlie twice on the lips as she hugged him, while also admitting she still loved him, but it seems he meant his word.
Earlier today, to spell it out once and for all, Ferne posted a new photograph of herself and Charlie on Twitter.
Alongside it, Ferne told her followers that she is finding it difficult moving on but confirmed that there is no romantic reunion on the cards - for the time being.
"Find it so hard to let go but too much has happened...for now we are friends," she said.
Meanwhile, elsewhere in Essex, Danielle Armstrong has apologised for calling Gemma Collins "fat" in last night's show. Gemma, however, doesn't appear to have forgiven her...
