Girls Aloud star Cheryl posted the message in February 2012 when the lineup for the 9th series was being put together and her name had been thrown into the mix.
Cheryl, 30, even told people to "move on" and described the suggestion of her making a comeback as a "yawn".
She told her followers: "X Factor was a great experience and time in my life and career but is now part of my past .. Please #letsmoveonnow #newnewspls Zzzzz *yawns*."
This isn't the first time Cheryl has denied an X Factor return either. On 8 January this year, Cheryl hit back at reports that Simon Cowell was lining her up as a judge again.
Alongside a sleeping emoticon, Cheryl simply said: "Same rumours different day/ year."
Cheryl first starred as an X Factor judge in 2008 but left to join Simon Cowell for the launch of US X Factor in 2011.

Unfortunately, Cheryl was unceremoniously axed within weeks and consequently fell out with Simon.
In her autobiography, Cheryl: My Story, Cheryl claimed Simon had decided days before her sacking that she should return to the UK version and be made head judge over Gary Barlow.
Referring to a text message she sent Simon, Cheryl said: "I apologise for the bad language, but this is how he made me feel, and this is what I sent to him: 'F*** you. F*** Fox. F*** Britain's Got Talent. F*** the orange and purple outfit. F*** big hair. F*** the UK X Factor. F*** you all. I hate you. I understand you're a businessman, and what I've learned from this is that business means more to you than friendship. I'm sad it's got like this and I wish you the best of luck, but count me out.'"
Cheryl later writes that she eventually broke the ice with Simon the following year, by hiring a private plane and banner that read 'Simon Cowell is 52 today! Ha ha ha! Love Cheryl xoxo' to fly over his house in Miami.
Last night, Cheryl confirmed her X Factor return by Instagraming a photograph of herself pretending to wring Simon's neck.
She since said she feels "inspired" and is "very happy" and "excited" to be joining the judging panel again.
Cheryl's return is rumoured to be worth £1.5 million.
