Rita Ora has reportedly turned down the offer to be a judge on this year's X Factor and said 'No' to Simon Cowell!

According to the Mirror, Rita has decided to concentrate on her music instead of taking a seat on The X Factor panel, as she believes a stint on the popular ITV show could harm her career and thus, affect her album sales.

Rita has previously appeared as a guest judge on The X Factor during the auditions

"Rita was formally offered the X Factor job and was very flattered, but turned it down," a friend told The Mirror.

"She wants to focus purely on her music and not get distracted by other things."

The friend added that Rita had noticed how Jessie J's latest album failed to chart as high as her debut LP and given that it was released following Jessie's appearance as a coach on The Voice UK, Rita feels the two may be connected and doesn't want to endure the same fate.

Last July, Jessie confirmed that she was quitting The Voice UK in order to concentrate on promoting her second studio album, Alive.

She wrote on Twitter: "I can't wait to promote my new record around the world and that has to take priority. I shall be keeping a very close eye on series three, showing my support in every way I can, and really hope that in some way that I can be part of the show."

Apparently Rita thinks Jessie's stint on The Voice UK could have affected her album sales

And despite Rita's apparent sentiments, Jessie hasn't done too badly since leaving the BBC show, jetting to America to work on more new music and even filming a music video with model Jourdan Dunn.

But in between recording tracks, the 'It's My Party' songstress hasn't been supporting the new series of The Voice UK as much as she'd originally intended.

In fact, last weekend Jessie blasted the current judges of The Voice UK for not providing enough constructive criticism and dishing out too much praise.

She tweeted: "Singers don't and won't improve if you continually say 'amazing' when it's not... Can't get better in a 'Yes bubble.'"
