Kim Kardashian has explained Keeping Up With The Kardashians uses a 'fake' home for its exterior shots to protect the safety of her famous family.

Some fans of the E! show were surprised to learn that the gorgeous, Spanish-style home shown in exterior shots for the programme is not actually the Kardashian-Jenner house.

The home used for Keeping Up With The Kardashians is not the actual Kardashian-Jenner house.

The interiors shown in the reality are the actual interiors of the Kardashian-Jenner mansion but they use a separate house for the outside location shots to protect the stars' privacy.

Wrting on Mobio INsider on 5 March, Kim said: "My old home in Beverly Hills was really my home & I would get people showing up at all hours ringing my gate & had to call the police on several occasions.

"People hopping the gate & scaring me. It was so unsafe. The Hollywood Star Tours would stop by too, because they recognised my home from our show. After that we realised how unsafe it is to show the exterior of our homes. So now we use different homes for the outside for security purposes. When we film inside, that's obviously our real home."

Kim's mum Kris Jenner's talkshow used a replica of their home's real life hallway.

Plenty of fans already knew the truth behind the double houses, but those who didn't learned of the 'fake' home yesterday when TMZ revealed the home used for exterior shots was on the market for $6.25 million.
