Held at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California, the rain just about managed to stay away for this year's awards, although the red carpet was definitely a bit wet around the edges – just ask Kerry Washington, whose gown looked decidedly soggy around the bottom!
And although there were all manner of Oscar-winning dresses on show, sorry ladies, but our favourite red carpet moment had to be seeing Pharrell Williams turning up hatless and legless in knee-length shorts and a tux (Lanvin, btw, if you feel like getting one for your fella)!
Pharrell was nominated for Best Original Song for his song 'Happy' which appeared in Despicable Me 2 and said the whole occasion was a "pinch yourself moment," during an pre-awards interview with E!'s Ryan Seacrest.
His fabulous tune lost out to 'Let It Go' from Best Animated Feature Film, Frozen, but he'll always be a winner in our eyes...
The red carpet also saw Brangelina turning up arm and arm and, thankfully, Angelina kept that right leg well and truly covered this year, opting instead for a beautiful, jewel-encrusted Elie Saab gown.
Both presented awards later in the evening and Brad's movie 12 Years A Slave, which he both produced and had a small role in, won the coveted gong for Best Picture.
Our other favourite winners including the ever-gorgeous Lupita Nyong'o for her supporting role in 12 Years A Slave and Mr Hot himself, Jared Leto for his role in Dallas Buyers Club.
The real winner of the whole night, however, had to be host for the evening and fabulously funny lady, Ellen DeGeneres.
Not only did Ellen managed to bring down the whole of Twitter with her celeb selfie to end all celeb selfies, but she made the whole evening fresh, funny and full of fast food as she ordered a pile of takeaway pizzas which arrived half-way through the night!
In true Oscars fashion she had a whole host of outfit changes, including a rather fetching fairy number (!) and we love the way she took the mickey out of practically everyone there – including poor old Jennifer Lawrence who managed to fall over... again!
If only she'd realised Lady Gaga had only just made in time, being the absolute last person to walk the red carpet and sweeping in just before the awards started.
We're sure that little gem would have been rife for a bit of an Ellen dig. Although the fact that Gaga looked feminine and pretty, rather than totally bonkers might not have been the crazy story she would have hoped for...
All in all it was a thoroughly enjoyable evening and we're already feeling blue about the Hollywood awards season coming to an end. Sniff.
