Arg explained that he's been a shoulder to cry on for Gemma after she confirmed her split from Rami on (24 January), just four weeks after the pair got engaged on Christmas Day.
"Gemma's a good friend of mine, she's a very, very good friend of mine," said Arg on ITV's Daybreak this morning (19 February). "She's been through a tough time recently."
Gemma and Arg have always been good friends, but the couple also enjoyed a brief romance in 2012, and it's clear that they've still got a close bond.
"She was engaged and then she recently broke up with her fiancé," Arg continued. "I've been a bit of a shoulder to cry on but we are better suited as friends. No reunion.
"I'm having a bit of fun and my status is currently single. [There's] no one special at the moment."
Although Arg spent Valentine's Day alone last Friday, he did have a well-wisher from the other side of the world.
"I didn't receive any Valentine's cards this year, I didn't receive any flowers. But there's a girl that I'm talking to who's quite a nice girl and she text me 'would I be her Valentine' all the way from New Zealand, so I was quite chuffed with that."
We bet you were Arg!
Arg is back for TOWIE's 11th series, which will kick off this Sunday (23 February) at 10pm on ITV2.
