Eva Mendes has laughed off a recent rumour that she's pregnant, explaining the speculation surfaced when she refused to enter a body scanner at the airport.

The brunette actress, who is dating Ryan Gosling, sparked baby claims when she was quoted as telling TSA at Los Angeles International Airport that she wouldn't consent to an X-ray scan at security because she was pregnant.

A rep for Eva, 39, swiftly denied she'd ever said such a thing, and during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show this week, Eva further clarified the situation.

"It's so ridiculous," she explained. "It all started because I didn't want to go through the X-ray scanners at the airport. They are really creepy. They basically see you naked, right? And not only that, but there is a radiation aspect to it so I always opt out and ask for a personal pat down."

She added it was no different to her usual routine but somehow this time it made headlines.

"I never do go through the scanners."

Meanwhile, despite dating one of the world's most desirable men, it seems Eva is planning a very low-key Valentine's Day. "I'm not a big Valentine's Day person. I'll probably just order a deep dish and watch The Notebook or something," she told Ellen.

Plenty of us will probably have rather similiar plans, although unluckily for the rest of us, we won't be watching The Notebook thinking, 'That's my boyfriend, Ryan Gosling, on screen!'

Place Beyond The Pines co-stars Eva and Ryan were recently reported to have split, but a rep for Eva dismissed the claims as "just another round of rumours" so, sorry ladies, but it seems Ryan is still well and truly off the market.
