Millie Mackintosh and her husband Professor Green have opened up about their relationship and revealed that their very first conversation was about polar bears!

The loved-up couple got married last September in Somerset, following a surprise proposal from Pro Green earlier in 2013, which involved him whisking Millie away to Paris on a pretend business trip.

And it seems they have a racy photo shoot to thank for their wedded bliss.

After spotting Millie on the cover of a lads' mag, Pro Green asked for her number and, once he'd plucked up the courage to call her, the twosome started bonding over a shared interest in polar bears.

Speaking to The Independent, the Hackney rapper said: "Before I could bottle it I pressed call, and pretended to be brave… We spoke for about 45 minutes: it was an awkward chat as we didn't know anything about one another."

Millie added: "I'd been watching Frozen Planet earlier – and he seemed to know a lot of facts about polar bears, which I loved."

Being from such different backgrounds (Millie is an heiress to the Rowntree sweet empire), the couple's relationship has previously come under scrutiny. However, Pro Green isn't fazed.

In fact, he can't praise his wife enough for putting up with him.

"I know I couldn't be with me: I'm an absolute nightmare," he admitted. "So I think Millie is commendable just for being with me, and she's helped me no end."

Meanwhile, former reality TV star Millie credits her hubby (real name Stephen Manderson) for helping her to move on from Made In Chelsea.

"I realised, I wasn't going to live my life for the show, so I moved on."

Millie, 24, decided to quit E4 show Made In Chelsea last year in a bid to keep her private life and her blossoming romance away from the cameras.

During an interview on Radio 1 in June 2013, Professor Green confirmed her exit by saying: "She wanted to keep her private life private and that doesn't fit very well with the format of the show when everyone in it's acting like a wally and are trying to play up to it just for the story lines. Everything changed for her."

But she has been busier than ever since leaving the MIC cast, working as a make-up artist, blogging about her daily style and creating her own range of false lashes.
