Selena Gomez has thanked fans for their support following the news she secretly entered rehab earlier this year.

Many fans were surprised when a rep for the Disney star confirmed she'd voluntarily checked into a facility in Arizona in early January for two weeks of treatment.

The reasons for the 21-year-old's stay have not been confirmed but the rep did say it was "not for substance abuse."

Now, on the road to recovery, Selena posted a photo to Instagram on Monday night (10 February) showing herself looking happy and healthy as she enjoyed a day out at a lake with friends.

Speaking to fans, she said: "I've done everything I could to the best of my ability. Thank you for the unconditional love and cyber hugs. You inspire me."

Selena's stint in rehab came after she cancelled a string of tour dates in Australia, saying at the time: "My fans are so important to me and I would never want to disappoint them.

"But it has become clear to me and those close to me that after many years of putting my work first, I need to spend some time on myself in order to be the best person I can be."

A source added to People that Selena simply needed some time to herself as she's been working nonstop since she was 15.

Meanwhile, in other Selena news, it was reported last week that a man caught creeping around the grounds of her Los Angeles property has been jailed for 120 days.

According to TMZ, the 19-year-old was also ordered to stay at least 150 yards away from Selena and has been given three years probation.
