Samantha Mumba was snapped looking fresh-faced and very happy outside an Irish radio station this morning.

The Irish singer-actress currently lives in sunny Los Angeles but is back on home soil to promote her comeback single 'Only Just Begun', which is released on 21 February.

She's also touring Ireland from 14 February.

Samantha was appearing on The Ray D'Arcy Show this morning, to perform a gorgeous acoustic version of the track, which she wrote about six months ago.

"The past six months to a year I've been focusing on music," she said. "A year ago I started writing again and getting excited and passionate for it."

Samantha currently lives with her policeman husband Torray Scales in Los Angeles, where she's a stepmother to his ten-year-old son Mason. She said she loved the lifestyle in California but admitted she was starting to miss home more and more.

"I love the weather. It's a nice quality of life but the more I'm coming home the harder it is to go back. I'm starting to miss home a bit, to be honest. Home is home no matter where you are."

Samantha, 31, shot to fame with debut single 'Gotta Tell You' in 2000, which charted in the UK and US. Other hit songs included 'Baby, Come On Over'.

She was discovered by Louis Walsh when she was just 15.

These days, she says she doesn't talk to Louis, partly because he's still based in Ireland and she's over in the US. "He's doing amazing," she said. "He was such a huge, integral part of my career, especially from day one, so I have nothing but respect for him."

Samantha's comeback is happening just as the second series of Big Reunion is about to air on ITV2, although she says that's not a road she'd go down herself.

She told the Irish Mirror: "I would never agree to be paired into one of their bands either – I am a solo artist."

Samantha's tour dates are:

14 February: The INEC, Killarney
15 February: Kytelers Inn, Kilkenny
20 February: The Village, Dublin
21 February, Monroes, Galway
22 February: Kremlim, Belfast
