Speaking on the red carpet at the National Television Awards on Wednesday (22 January), the 41-year-old actress said: "It's really cool to have all of these new characters join the show. It has shaken the show up and they are all amazing people.
"Danny Dyer and his new family are insanely talented, they are very cool. The show has got a very positive vibe at the moment and we really embrace new talent at EastEnders."
Meanwhile, Samantha has only just returned to the hit soap herself, after her character Ronnie Mitchell was released from prison.
But since Ronnie reappeared in Walford she has been on a pretty twisted and dark path, which resulted in her killing Carl White over the New Year.
"I'm playing a darker character now so it's a bit weird coming at her from a different angle", Samantha explained. "But I hope people still love her and understand why she did what she did.
"It's strange coming back with such a huge storyline, but at the same time it's like coming back to family. They are all my family, genuinely. So even when you're dealing with a very difficult storyline that feels quite weird, I'm embracing it."
However, she isn't keen on her 8-year-old daughter Lily-Rose watching her on the telly just yet.
"My family at home are very supportive. My daughter is 8 years old so she's a bit young to watch it, but my 12-year-old son thinks it's very cool."
Although Samantha may seem like an effortless yummy mummy, she admits that it's not always easy to stay healthy.
She said: "I try and be really good but I had a huge bag of chips two days ago. It was a massive portion and I inhaled them.
"I work very hard and I have two kids, so that kind of keeps me busy enough."
