Big Reunion bosses have hit back after it was claimed that Louise Redknapp wasn't asked to join the show with her former Eternal bandmates.

Louise was in the original Eternal lineup during the 90s, however she will not be starring alongside her bandmates Kelle Bryan, Vernie Bennet and Easther Bennet when the second series of The Big Reunion kicks off next month.

Louise was among the original Eternal lineup

This weekend, it was suggested on Twitter that Louise was "never officially asked" if she wanted to reunite with Eternal for the ITV2 show.

Bosses however hit back: "Load of old nonsense! We don't ask individuals to reform. Bands who want to reform ask to be part of The Big Reunion."

Last month, the Big Reunion series two lineup was officially announced following the huge success of the first series.

Along with Eternal, it includes A1, Damage, 3T, Girl Thing and newly-formed boy band 5th Story - which is made up of Gareth Gates, Dane Bowers, Adam Rickitt, Kavana and Kenzie from Blazin' Squad.

Last week, the Big Reunion bands got to know each other on a night out before the official trailer for the new series was released.
