Speaking during his Celebrity Big Brother review on This Morning, Rylan said that he misses singing and performing.

He explained: "I love presenting and I love being on here with you guys doing the Hub and I love being on This Morning and Big Brother, but... I did go on X Factor to be a singer and I never got the chance to stand there and sing on the show and record and stuff like that."

Rylan, who finished in fifth place on the ITV talent show, went on to win Celebrity Big Brother a year later.

He continued: "Things have happened quite recently that I can't go into at the minute, and I hate being one of those people that say 'I can't say, but...'

Rylan returned to Xtra Factor on 20 October for a surprise performance

"But something has happened in the last few weeks that I've sat there and gone 'Are you deaf?' and 'Is this for real?' and it is for real! So something is happening."

With Rylan keeping tight-lipped, host Eamonn Holmes asked: "Something good?", to which Rylan replied: "Yeah."

Probing the 25-year-old again, Ruth Langsford asked, "So are you parking the music while other things happen?"

Rylan said: "It's probably just getting revved once something is signed on the dotted line!"
