Denise, 39, who appeared on ITV's This Morning to discuss her new one-woman show called Some Girl I Used to Know, explained how she is balancing work duties with being a mother.
Speaking to Phillip Schofield and Christine Bleakley, Denise explained that Betsy is currently at nursery. "She's only three and does two days a week and then she'll come and stay with me," she said.
"We work it between us and Lee's currently doing Casualty, so we're very hands on with her and we've split it between us. She gets to see us both equally, it's lovely."
Lee and Denise split in July last year following months of speculation that their four-year marriage was on the rocks.
The pair, who met on the BBC show Any Dream Will Do in 2007, said at the time that they would "remain the best of friends, with their daughter Betsy as their number one priority."
Talking about her new theatre show, in which she plays a woman named Stephanie Canworth, Denise admitted: "I would say, the part that's me is the emotional side of it - I'm a very emotional person - and in this show [the character] goes on an emotional roller coaster.
"But this character isn't based on my life. It's based on experiences that my friends have had and some of the experiences I've had.
Denise added: "I've had a first love, we all have - but she's every woman, and that's what I wanted her to be."
