Samia Ghadie took to Twitter last night to defend her romance with boyfriend Sylvain Longchambon after comments made by Hollyoaks star Jorgie Porter during the new series of Dancing On Ice.

Sylvain had previously dated Jorgie's friend and co-star Jennifer Metcalfe after they were paired together on the celebrity ice skating competition in 2011.

Samia and Sylvain fell in love after being partnered on Dancing On Ice in January 2013.

However, after splitting with Jennifer at the end of 2012, it emerged Sylvain had fallen in love with Corornation Street actress Samia after they partnered together on last year's show.

During a VT in the first episode of last night's 'All Stars' show, viewers saw Jorgie's shock reaction when she discovered that she would be paired with Sylvain. She said: "Does that mean I'm going to be his new girlfriend?"

Once the pair were practicing on ice, Jorgie later joked: "If he doesn't try it on with me I'll be really angry."

Jorgie was shocked after finding out she would be paired with Sylvain

During the show, Samia soon took to the social networking site to defend her relationship. She said: "Jorgie needn't worry... He won't go for burgers..."

The 31-year-old also retweeted a fan's message, which said: "@dancingonice don't like what you have done with the VT for Jorgie & Sylvain very distasteful & very unfair on @slongchambon and @realsamia."

Jorgie has not yet responded to the comments, but last night, the show's host Phillip Schofield also made remarks about the pairing, saying to Jorgie that she must have found it a "little uncomfortable to start with".

Despite good comments from the judges, Jorgie got the boot in last night's show

Phillip also asked Sylvain if he was enjoying the competition and later asked: "No trouble at home?"

When fans tweeted Phillip after the show to call his jokes "inappropriate", he responded: "Just a bit of gentle ribbing."

Despite positive comments from the judges, Jorgie and Sylvain crashed out of the competition last night along with Joe Pasquale and his professional skater Robin Johnstone.
