Cheryl Cole has said she's "so proud" of JLS after being in the audience to watch their last-ever concert.

JLS announced in April that they'd be parting ways at the end of 2013 following a farewell tour and album, and last night's date at the O2 Arena in London marked the final show on that goodbye jaunt.

Cheryl was among the star-studded crowd and took to Instagram afterwards to write: "Soooo proud of these boys ! Was here on their first day! It only felt right to be here on their last! Love you boys! #farewellJls #muchlove."

The former Girls Aloud star was a judge on X Factor when JLS auditioned back in 2005 and, since then, she's been a vocal supporter of the group throughout their career.

On hearing news of their split earlier this year, Cheryl tweeted: "Proud of the JLS boys and how far they've come. Loved them from day 1 and wish them all the very best!!"

After the boys' first audition, a thrilled Cheryl told them: "I love you! I think the industry is missing a boy band. You're cute, really cute… Your arrangement was amazing and the vibe between the four of you, I really enjoyed it."

The fifth series of X Factor was won by Alexandra Burke, with JLS finishing in runner-up position.

The band - Marvin Humes, JB Gill, Oritse Williams and Aston Merrygold - announced their split with a statement, telling fans: "It has been the most incredible journey over the last 6 years and we have achieved more things than we could have ever dreamed possible. Thanks to all of you guys, your support, your dedication and your love, you have changed our lives forever and we wouldn't be where we are today without you."

Other stars in the audience for JLS' final show included Marvin's wife Rochelle and daughter Alaia-Mai, One Direction's Niall Horan and Liam Payne, and Olly Murs.
