Big Brother 2010 winner Josie Gibson has spoken for the first time about the internet trolls who sent her death threats when she was at her heaviest and admits: 'There were times I felt suicidal.'

A size 24 and 18st at her biggest, bubbly Josie, who is now a svelte size 11 and weighs just over 10st, lost weight after winning Big Brother three years ago.

She'd dropped from 17st to 13st in less than a year when disaster struck. As she tells it: 'I broke my ankle falling out of a nightclub pissed.'

In a new interview in the latest issue of Reveal, out today ( December 31) Josie reveals how, while stuck at home with her injury, she turned to food and booze for comfort: 'I was living on beef stew and Viennetta and became a red wine alcoholic for a while.

'My boyfriend Luke would say: "Don't you think you've had enough Viennetta?" But I'd tell him I needed the calcium to build my bones!'

Sadly, as her weight piled back on, the internet insults came thick and fast. 'Go and hang yourself you big, fat beached whale,' were just some of the vile messages she was bombarded with from internet trolls. 'There were times I felt suicidal,' she admits.

'But those people kept me going. I thought: "At least I'm not one of them. I've always been polite and treated people how I want to be treated. I'm actually quite a nice person." And you've got to like yourself to lose weight. If you don't, you're not going to look after yourself and put good food in your body.'
