Justin Bieber has announced that he will be retiring from music following the release of his latest album.

Justin is 19 and has only been in the pop industry for four years, yet it seems he is already planning on donning a pair of slippers and grabbing a pipe.

Is Justin getting a little deaf in his old age?

In a radio interview with Los Angeles-based hip hop station Power 106, Justin said: "After the new album, I'm actually retiring man. I'm retiring.

"I think I'm probably going to quit music."

However, his next comments may indicate that Justin is in fact pulling our leg and 'doing a Lily Allen', who retired - then came out of retirement a few years later.

"I want to grow as an artist and I'm taking a step out, I want my music to mature," he added.

Justin, who is from Canada, found fame after uploading several videos of himself singing to YouTube in 2008.

He released his debut album My World 2.0 in March 2009 and has since gone on to dominate the pop industry.

But in recent times, Justin has made headlines for reasons other than his music.

The star particularly made an impact earlier this year during a trip to the UK as part of his 'Believe' world tour. Singer Justin was caught lashing out at a photographer, stepping out in public in a bizarre gas mask, and arriving two hours late to his own concert at London's O2 Arena.

During a later appearance at the Billboard Awards in the US, Justin told the crowd that he wanted to be taken seriously after he was booed.
