Being handed an MBE - Most Excellent Order of the British Empire - will top off a fantastic year for Adele, who won an Oscar for her James Bond theme song 'Skyfall' in January.

It is believed Adele's incredible musical achievements led to her being given the honour.

Other celebrities attending Buckingham Palace for the annual event will be sports presenter Claire Balding, who will be presented with an OBE for services to broadcasting and journalism, and writer Jackie Collins.

Adele is based in Brighton, however she and partner Simon Konecki split their time between there and America.
