I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! bosses have denied that Joey Essex is receiving special treatment in the jungle.

Officials for the show spoke out after ex-contestant Matthew Wright claimed in an interview that it was "all about Joey".

Speaking to a newspaper, Matthew said: "We've had three weeks of 'all about Joey', which gets quite boring.

"Every question I was asked was about Joey. If it was 'How was your dinner?' the next question was 'How was Joey's dinner?'"

He added: "You could see he was being given special treatment."

However, a spokesman for the reality series has since told Reveal: "All contestants are treated equally.

"What viewers see is a fair and accurate representation of what happens in the jungle."

Last night (5 December), viewers saw Joey teaming up with now-ex campmate Alfonso Ribeiro for a Dingo Dollar Challenge.

The pair were made to wear cockroach costumes, however Joey seemed to enjoy the experience of dressing like a creepy crawly.

He told the cameras: "I was just trying to be a cockroach and stay positive as a cockroach."
