The 'My Life Would Suck Without You' singer married boyfriend Brandon Blackstock in an intimate ceremony in Tennessee on 20 October, attended only by Brandon's two children from a previous relationship.
According to Kelly, however, by this time next year she's hoping there will be one more member of the family!
During an appearance on US radio show Valentine In The Morning, she said: "I want babies! Everybody keeps saying, 'What do you want by Christmas?' I keep saying, 'I want to be pregnant!' I never used to really want kids as I'm kind of selfish with my career but going to soccer games, doing the homework [with my stepchildren], I just love it. It sounds so cheesy but it's such a bigger point to kid. I'd like two more – I've already told Brandon! I don't care if it's a boy or girl. I don't just want to have one as they'd be alone. I want two."
She also joked: "[Brandon] is excited about all the practice!"
Kelly added that she "really lucked out" with her stepchildren, saying they are fantastic kids.
The singer became engaged to talent manager Brandon just before Christmas last year, saying at the time: "Happiest night of my life last night! I am so lucky and am with the greatest man ever."
They filed for their marriage license in Nashville earlier this month, eventually tying the knot at the beautiful Blackberry Farms resort in the Great Smoky Mountains.
Kelly and Brandon had initially wanted a large wedding but decided to elope after becoming overwhelmed with wedding planning. Their actual ceremony was so small, Kelly's mother was not even in attendance, although Kelly said there were no hard feelings.
The 31-year-old, who shot to fame as the first-ever winner of American Idol, is currently promoting her Christmas album Wrapped In Red.
