Abbey, 27, has also admitted that her footballer husband Peter Crouch is desperate to take part in the show and is "jealous" of her!
Speaking on ITV1's Lorraine today (22 October), Abbey said: "[Peter's] so jealous, he wants to do it himself but obviously he's still playing football so we'll see after that.
"He loves it, he's so supportive… and my daughter loves it as well, she loves watching me on telly. I come home and I have to teach her the dances…"
Referring to her figure, Abbey added: "I've actually gone heavier, I think it's muscle.
"We eat so much, you have to because you need the energy and you're so tired if you don't."
Abbey's daughter, Sophia, is two years old and the model admits it is difficult juggling motherhood with gruelling dance rehearsals.
She said: "It's hard having to juggle being a mum and a wife and do this because it's so time consuming, literally your whole life is the dance…
"I don't actually know why I've done it to be honest, it's speaking to Lisa Snowdon and Kelly Brook and Harry Judd - they all said, 'Look, it was the best thing we've ever done'.
"I haven't worked that much since I had my baby two-and-a-half years ago, so I just felt like I needed something for me - a new lease of life if you like - and I'm just loving it."
Meanwhile, Abbey's dance partner Aljaz Skorjanec - who joined the BBC1 show this year - has described Abbey as a "perfect student".
He said: "I'm really liking that I got Abbey for my first year on Strictly, she's great to work with she's a perfect student.
"We're just having fun every single week and just need to make sure that we're going to be ready 100% every week as we go on."
