The reality TV star has revealed that he viewed his time with Stephanie as merely a "holiday romance" and stopped himself from falling in love with her because she would eventually be heading home to Los Angeles.
Speaking to the Mail Online, Spencer said: "Mine and Stephanie's relationship always had an expiry date, it was never going to last.
"I didn't allow myself to fall deep into the reals of love; she lives in LA so it was more of a holiday romance."
Spencer, 25, dated the star of The Hills for a few months over the summer, while she was staying in England.
However, the couple's relationship soon fizzled out once she returned to America and Stephanie has now been seen with a new mystery man by her side.
This week, Stephanie was spotted on the red carpet in LA with a mystery male, sparking rumours that she'd already moved on from her Chelsea based beau.
Nevertheless, Spencer isn't bitter and only has compliments for his former flame.
"We are still close and she is arguably the nicest person I've ever met," he added.
The notorious ladies' man is currently gearing up for the new series of Made In Chelsea, which is set to return on 14 October and will even feature an appearance from Stephanie, as she filmed scenes with Spencer before flying back to the States.
And although his commitments to the BAFTA award-winning E4 show have kept him busy, Spencer has still found time to promote his new autobiography, Confessions Of A Chelsea Boy, In which he speaks on previous girlfriends, drug taking and the tragic death of his brother.
