Justin Timberlake has described the prospect of an 'N Sync and One Direction supergroup as "hilarious".

However, he has also questioned whether a single stage could cope with ten 1D haircuts!

Justin Timberlake appears on ITV1's Daybreak - 20 September 2013

Last month, Justin reunited with his 'N Sync bandmates - Lance Bass, JC Chasez, Joey Fatone and Chris Kirkpatrick - especially for the MTV Video Music Awards, held in Brooklyn, New York.

Appearing on ITV1's Daybreak today (20 September), Justin was asked if the band should reform permanently and take on One Direction.

Laughing, Justin replied: "Really, can 10 of those hairstyles be on the stage? I think we know the answer..."

He then added: "We should form a supergroup - it would be hilarious!"

Although in another era the two boy bands would have been rivals, Justin is quite the fan of Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik.

"I haven't seen the One Direction lads too much, just because I'm constantly moving at the same pace they are," Justin admitted.

"But from what I have seen, I like them. They seem grounded and I like that."
