Sharon voices Captain Hook's mum in the popular Disney series, and her new book - Mama Hook Knows Best: A Pirate Parent's Favourite Fables - is based on that.

The book features Mama Hook reflecting on all her adventures sailing the high seas and the stories she used to tell Captain Hook when he was young.

Sharon was snapped promoting the book in Los Angeles on Wednesday (18 September), a couple of days after she supported son Jack on his Dancing With The Stars debut.

Sharon and husband Ozzy were seen sitting in the audience with Jack's wife Lisa on Monday night when the US version of Strictly Come Dancing kicked off its new series.

An emotional Sharon was seen in tears as she watched Jack perform a well-received fox trot with his pro dancer partner Cheryl Burke.

She later tweeted: "‪@OfficialOzzy and I are SO PROUD of ‪@JackOsbourne! He's never danced before & he just did fabulous on ‪@DancingABC!"

Speaking on her US chatshow The Talk earlier this week, Sharon revealed Jack was on the verge of quitting after watching the other stars in action during the final rehearsal.

"It wasn't until the day before that he actually got into the studio, out of the rehearsal room into the physical filming studio, and saw everybody else dance, because they watch everyone else dance. He texts me and says, 'Mum, I've done the wrong thing here, I can never compete, I've done the wrong thing.' And so I'm like, 'Oh, my goodness', and then he said that day he messed up his routine, so I was like, 'Oh no, it's gonna be just uncomfortable for him.'"

But Jack - who has been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis - came out and wowed the judges, earning 23 out of a possible 30 points for his first routine!
