Robin Thicke has spoken out about a recent photo that showed him touching a socialite's bum in New York and insisted that he and wife Paula Patton are "happily married".

The picture went viral last month following the MTV VMAs after party at 1Oak night club, where Robin was caught in a mirror with his hand on a blonde woman's behind.

Paula was also at the party and Robin has now dismissed rumours that his marriage is in jeopardy or that his behaviour was inappropriate.

Speaking to America's Star magazine, the chart-topper said: "My only comment about the so-called scandalous photo would be that my wife and I are perfectly in love and very happily married."

He added: "[We have] the greatest love of the century, and the most functional, dysfunctional marriage in Hollywood."

Robin first met Paula when he was 14 years old and, after dating throughout secondary school, the couple eventually wed in 2005.

They also have a three-year-old son called Julian Fuego, who Robin has previously credited as his "lucky charm".

Neither Robin nor Paula have held back in the past when it comes to discussing their longstanding marriage.

In fact, the pair are often heard gushing about their love for one another in interviews and revealing how they keep the spark in their romance alive.

During a recent interview, 'Blurred Lines' singer Robin described Paula as his "rock".

He said: "I don't know if I would still be alive in some ways if it wasn't for Paula. She's been my rock, my muse, my inspiration and I love her. The whole way."

If anything, these two sound stronger than ever.
