Cher, who rose to fame on The X Factor in 2010 with Cheryl Cole as her mentor, said she was difficult to handle but has now changed her attitude.
Speaking to MTV News this week, Cher explained: "I was a nightmare to work with, I was 16 years old and I wanted everything my way."
Cher, who said she's still got "a lot of hard work to do", continued: "What I didn't understand was that just starting out and being in the competition, you have to earn your stripes.
"I never want to be remembered as the girl that came in and was rude to everyone and was an absolute diva even though she ain't got her stripes yet."
Cher, who has collaborated with American rapper T.I. for her new single 'I Wish' is currently on the road for her 'I Wish' tour, with US X Factor girl group Fifth Harmony as her supporting act.
The teen sensation, who is expected to release her second studio album in November, has enjoyed huge success in the US this past year with her debut album, Sticks & Stones.
She's also collaborated with pop sensation Demi Lovato and R&B superstar Ne-Yo, and last month, teamed up with Taylor Swift on her RED tour where they sang a rendition of Cher's chart hit, 'Want U Back'.
Not bad for the young starlet who came fourth on The X Factor!
