Charlie announced news of his departure on Twitter, explaining that the time has come to "move on to other things."
He said: "I had an amazing time on TOWIE and will miss it deeply. The time has come to move on to other things.
"It has been an amazing near 2 years and I will cherish the memories. I want to thank you ALL for the support and I will see you soon I'm sure X."
Charlie was first introduced on the show last year during series four as Gemma Collins' boyfriend.
Since, viewers have seen him enjoy a brief romance with Danni Park-Dempsey and Jasmin Walia, and have also witnessed his growing friendship with best mate Bobby Norris.
Posting a photo of himself with Bobby, Charlie added: "Gonna miss this boy so much! I'm so pleased I shared this experience with @BobbyCNorris - love u man x."
Co-star Jessica Wright responded to the news, saying: "So saddened by this Charlie. Really am you're such a lovely person you will be missed so much x."

The new series of TOWIE will return next month, with a two-part special in Vegas.
